This piece is the result of countless hours of research and detail-oriented design work. I combed through many current and historical maps and reflected on many of my own visits to the island while working on this project. Being fortunate enough to call Fidalgo Island (known as the "Gateway to the San Juans") home for now over a decade, I've had the opportunity to visit San Juan Island myself numerous times over the years. My family and I have enjoyed hiking, biking, beach combing, and exploring on and around this island. 

To create this artwork, I used maps to pencil out the coast line of the island, and then I marked out the primary features (lakes, topography, etc.). I scanned and imported that drawing into my digital sketchpad and used it as the base layer above which I began digitally sketching, arranging, and coloring the lettering for each element. Referencing various maps and my own notes and experiences, I strove to include as many natural features, parks, neighborhoods, and landmarks as I could into the final design. Once I was happy with the overall design, I removed that base layer sketch to reveal the clean lettering-only design.

As with all my work, this art print is completely unique and original, dreamed up and designed entirely by me. You won't find a San Juan Island design like this from anyone else!

Depending on the size you choose, and the inventory I have on hand, the print may be shipped directly from the printer (a process called drop-shipping), so that it arrives to you faster. The printer is located in the U.S.

All prints will be rolled, wrapped in tissue, and shipped in a rigid tube (except for 8x10s, which may be shipped in a flat rigid mailer).
